The Quarantine Cleanse!

Lately, you’ve been spending more & more time inside, and so it’s important that the energy in your home supports and uplifts  you. Just like cleaning your home is necessary, so is cleansing it.

Here’s some simple, easy ways you can really raise the vibration of your home.

Sacred smoke:

Light up incense or a smudging stick containing sage, rosemary, juniper or frankincense. As the smoke is rising, go through each room of your house with the smoking incense while saying a short statement like “With this sacred smoke, I banish all negativity from my home.Only positive energy will remain.”  You can add anything else you wish for your home.

Clear out the clutter & move things around:

It’s easy for energy to get stuck in places. So, every now & then, shifting furniture, cleaning out your closets & book and kitchen cabinets is a must. Do this at least once a month. Maintaining a clean, clutter-free home means negative energy won’t have a place to congregate. Last but not least, open your windows! Allowing fresh air in also lets negative energy out.

Sound cleansing:

An age-old tradition will have you playing an instrument (or clapping) toward the walls, until you’ve made a full loop around your house or room. The sound of drums, gongs, and even clapping hands can help break up negative energy. While you can try this one, there are different sound frequencies that can help you clear your space simply by playing it our loud. Here a few links to get you started:

Using the right crystals:

Crystals are gifts from the earth that carry various beneficial vibrational properties. Ones to use to cleanse & protect your home are – Black obsidian, black tourmaline, Amethyst or selenite. It’s important to cleanse your crystals from any negative energies they might have absorbed before. Please put them in a bowl of salt overnight, and in the sun for the day shortly after, or if you’re lucky to have a full moon coming up, give them a moon bath.

Salt:

Yes, salt. It’s time to bring it out of the kitchen! You can dissolve sea salt in a spray bottle filled with water and mist the air of every room, draw a thin line of sea salt in front of your home’s entrance or include a small dish of salt on your altar. Himalayan salt lamps are also good energy cleansers.

Make energetically cleansing your space a regular part of your routine and  you will begin to feel lighter, brighter, and better able to take on the world!
